SPRED is for those with mental or learning disabilities including but not limited to Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and Severe Epilepsy. SPRED is available for children (6 to 10 years old), teenagers (11 to 16 years old) and adults (17 to 21 years old or older) 6 students per session.
SPRED helps develop small faith communities in parishes with adults accompanying each disabled person in their faith development.
It is not an educational or sacramental program, the task is to bring the disabled to parish life, within the process they can also perform their sacraments at the time that the parish team of SPRED deems it convenient according to the development of the disabled.
SPRED provides an atmosphere of friendship and liturgical formation is created integrated into SPRED sessions.
Members receive the message of the word of God through symbols, devotion and affection from the catechists. The child feels and distinguishes the difference between something sacred and the everyday.
The space is opened to the relationship with God, He transforms them little by little, until by their will they enjoy attending Mass, receiving Holy Communion and being part of the community of the faithful.
